This pavilion will be a single-story, single space that is to showcase a sustainable aspect of Copenhagen. This structure will be located in Copenhagen’s Nytorv [new square] for no more than 12 months, with an emphasis on sustainability. The pavilion is not required to have general amenities [such as restrooms]. It will be open 24 hours every day throughout its duration.
The intent is to create a temporary exhibition space for urban design that blends in with its surroundings through the use of light, transparency, and reflectivity. The space will use planar elements and innovative OLED displays to emphasize the contemporary style. Instead of standing out, the idea is to blend in and reflect and respect the historic context and connect Gammeltorv and Nytorv. As a result there will be a parallel between old and new architecture.
